Hi Sharon here and today I'm blogging about one of my favourite Unity products. It's the Kit Of The Month. It's such a good value kit and you can use the images and sentiments in lots of ways. This month's is called "Glittering Eyes".
So far I have made this lovely set of 6x4 cards for my project life album or you could use them as toppers for your cards. I've coloured the images using distress inks as watercolours.
I also made this door hanger.
I get really excited when I know my kit is coming through my letterbox each month and you can too. All the details are here on the Unity site.
I hope I've inspired you to take a look at the kit it really is worth having!!
It’s Camille here today sharing a mixed media canvas I made
using the July SMAK Kit.
I used the SMAK Kit, Hearts Reflection, with
layers of printed/stamped tissue paper, gel medium, and applied various colors of
Tim Holtz Distress Paints and inks. It was the most fun I’ve had in a few weeks. Did you notice the butterfly twinkling in the middle of the eye?
As always, every month's images are perfect for mixed media
projects, scrapbooking, and everyone at Unity’s favorite, card making.
Lately I've been seeing so many watercolor paintings that are AMAZING and I'm only starting out --- so I may not be as good as some I'm inspired by. But hey.. Art is one's way of exploring and everyone has their own way of expressing themselves. So, art is never about being perfect but having FUN doing it :)
So, since I really wanted to paint some flowers --- I decided to "cheat" and use the beautiful poppy stamps from Unity Stamp's Kit of the Month 06/2016 "Beautiful One"
I inked up the flowers using VersaMagic chalk inks and mixed the colors before stamping. What I love about chalk inks is -- the colors are so pretty and it does mimic the watercolor painting feel.
And BONUS feature is -- the ink stays wet for a while so I was able to even emboss my butterfly partially! :)
"Hello! My name is Sarah and I am from Minnesota and I LOVE crafting. I dabbled with paper crafts a long time ago--my sister actually used to rubber stamp when she was in Jr. High and I made soooooo much fun of her...ooops! It wasn't until about 10 years ago when I attended my first in home stamping party that I really loved what I saw, but never thought that I could "do that." However, in about the last 5 years I've really bloomed in my crafting and figured out that I kinda love stamping... a lot! It's my relaxation and creative outlet. I love, love, love to make cards. And if you've followed my blog at all you will find I simply can't resist a great pun-- I love punny stamps oh so much and I love that Unity keeps bringing about more and more puns to keep me crafting :) In my free time I love spending time with my friends and family. I work full time in Property Management and that keeps me super busy. When I'm not working I love going to college hockey games and baseball games with my hubby. I also enjoy sitting back and sipping on bubble tea with my bestie!"
