SMAK Saturday + Petaloo

Hi friends! Happy Saturday. Possibly the best day of the week! Erin here today posting a sweet little card made using the March SMAK Kit Chalk It Up. One of my favorite SMAK kits. I'm a card girl, mostly, so I wanted to show how SMAK can still be used to create CARDS, too!

See that cool little vine? That's a Petaloo product! We are teaming up with this awesome company all week here at Unity showcasing their beautiful flowers and accents. WHOOP!

Unity and Petaloo!

First, did you see this week's stamp of the week?

 

Lots of great father related stamps.

It is a great basic sentiment set that can be combined with almost any image.

LIKE...

   what the buck 

Don't they go together like peas and carrots?

My dad is a hunter, fisher, camper and backpacker.

These WILD images are so perfect for him.

I needed a gift card holder so I used my Petaloo flowers to decorate one.

I had tons of fun playing with those paper flowers.

First, I used some spray ink to cover the leaves.

Then, I unscrewed the top off the yellow spray ink and used 

the plastic part to dab on yellow ink.

After that dried, I used my favorite background stamp

giving it all meaning

to stamp over it in black.

    

Last, I added a black belly band around a kraft bag, cut a little tag and stamped 

the sentiment from the April 2013 KOM - you make my heart puffy.  

I'm all set for Father's Day.

Inspiration day with Unity and Petaloo!!!

Hello Unity lovers….and Petaloo lovers!!!!

Jolande from the Netherlands here, yes, this week we have  a combination between Unity and Petaloo!!...So I find my inspiration in these cute little flowers :)

We all made projects with Unity and Petaloo…have a look at the blog hop tomorrow:  what an amazing projects the design members have made with this combination; really amazing!!!

For today I made this clock, it’s about 10 inches high and it really works J (lol)

The sprayink is from Art Anthology (a new spray with bright colors)

As you can see I used a lot of flowers, I love to make it abundantly.

Of course I used my most favorite stamp ever, the flower from Donna Downey.

And, as you can see, the stamps from the KOTM April.

Petaloo - DT TUESDAY/ Team Up

 

 

 

 

Hello Everyone, did you check out the gorgeous project posted yesterday

for the Unity / Petaloo Team UP week..

Today is Unity DT Tuesday where I will share a project from me and then

share a project from one of Unity's Customers..

 

Using one of the Past SMAK kits , I made this fun layout..

It was out time last fall down in Connecticut , where I was teaching at CKU

one of or stops was a trip to the Target there.. and I captured these kiddos

having a treat in the store.. Starbucks.. who can turn that down!!

 

 

 

Using the Past SMAK kit of the Month " love story clips"

this is the December 2012 SMAK kit..

I just love all the elements of this kit and that clip board had me all excited to

use it in a fun way to hang a photo.

 

 

 

For this layout I wanted a distressed look for my layered flower.

Using Flowers from Petaloo's Color Me Crazy collection...  

 

 I first took a variety of flowers to layer.. from large to small.. then sprayed them all with

Heidi Swapp's  Color Shine..  then let those dry.

 

Then using the stamp from the  April 2013 SMAK kit

"Celebrate the Good Times"

and some brown ink I stamped on the flowers.

 

 

then for the distressing I lightly splattered some

Bronze color shine .

 

 

 the last thing I did was let the flower dry completely and used my fingers to form the shape

to make them more 3-D .. I love the look . I love that the stamping added another element to

what would just be a plain flower..

 

Again, we'll be sharing ideas using Unity Stamps & Petaloo all week long...

even our regular Thursday Inspiration Hop will feature even more projects ;)
