Growing in Unity

Welcome to Growing in Unity!  This week the wonderful Tara is up sharing her fabulous Unity creations!

Meet Tara:

Here is a little something about Tara:

"Hi, I’m Tara Sell and I live in Oregon with my hubby, my step-daughter, two kitties, one terrier and a pug.  To pay the bills I work at the Oregon Department of Forestry as a budget analyst and then I come home and counter balance all the numbers with lots of creative crafting!  I started my blog, Curl E. Cue’s, about three years ago when I first discovered the joy that is stamping.  In July of 2015 I expanded onto YouTube and discovered that I truly love sharing the techniques I use through video tutorials.  I love playing with almost any crafty product, from inks to stamps to mixed media, but my favorite thing to do is use different nediums to color adorable images!  The passion and kindness that I have felt from other crafters in the short time I have been a part of this community continues to amaze me and I am so honored to be a part of it all!"

Check out this great trio of cards Tara made:

Be sure to swing on by Tara's blog each day this week for loads of inspiration and your chance to win some Unity goodies!

DT Tuesday with Mandi

Hello Friends
It is Mandi here for DT Tuesday!
I love using my stamps for things other than making cards.
If you know me I love stamping on jars :)
So I upcycled an old coffee jar for my post today.

This is how I make them..
Paint your jar with two coats of chalk paint.
Let it dry completely.
Then get your stamp.
I stick mine down on my desk.
Ink your stamp with archival ink.
Then take your jar and roll it over the stamp,
starting from one end of the stamp to the other applying firm pressure.
Sometimes you don't get all of the impression from the stamp but it is totally ok!
This leaves a kind of distressed look to your jar.
Leave it as is or add some ribbon or cord and you are done :)

The butterfly stamp I used is from the Without Fear Without Limits KOTM.

Now on to some cards that caught my eye this week.
How lovely is this card from Kim Pietruszewski
Kim used one of my favourite Unity stamps I love it!

I also love this gift card by Trisha Magnus
The colour combination is just beautiful.

Last but not least I love this card from Amy Zoe Ismail
A lovely summery card!

Thanks so much for stopping by today!
I will leave you with one of my favourite  quotes I found on pinterest.

Then I used the Ranger Dylusion ink sprays [Funky Fucsia / Fresh Lime / Lemon Zest / Vibrant Turquoise] to mist and splatter the background.  I also added some water to make it look more fluid :)

Then I die cut the "happy" word from Heidi Swapp in some gold foam glitter.

You Will Get Through It - SMAK Saturday

Good morning! Heather here to share a card I made with the current SMAK kit - this simple butterfly seemed perfect paired with this sentiment!

I covered the butterfly with Stickles on part of it, then used Glossy Accents on the rest of it.

Here is the June SMAK Kit  - some signature beautiful butterflies in this one! So pretty! (((You can read all about the SMAK kit membership HERE - between this, and the other monthly kit options - Unity has you covered!)))

Lots of fun possibilities, huh?

I pulled in the colours from the patterned paper and kept it pretty simple.

This stamp is called You are Wonderful!

Growing in Unity

Happy Wednesday and welcome to Growing in Unity!! This week Kim is up sharing her fabulous Unity creations!

Meet Kim:

Here is a little something about Kim:

"Hi!  I'm so excited to be the GIU Gal this week!  My name is Kim, and I enjoy rubber stamping and paper crafting.  My husband and I live in Idaho, which is very different from Fort Lauderdale where I grew up.  We share our lives with two cats, 13-year-old Dusty and 3-year-old Pikachu (she was named by a little boy before the family decided not to take her with them on their cross-country move).

I've been stamping for over a dozen years.  I started because I needed a quiet hobby to keep me occupied.  My husband fell ill shortly after we got married (was my Bridezilla-ness to blame?).  My husband's medical issues are huge and varied. He's had six surgeries, including open-heart surgery and a kidney transplant and hundreds of doctor visits.  He also suffers from chronic pain.  His pill container looks like a big embellishment organizer.  I am his caregiver.

My favorite thing about stamping in particular is that I can feel like an artist without having the ability to draw.  And the best thing about papercrafting in general is the huge group of supportive and creative friends I've made.  My life wouldn't be the same without them.

I do my best to be quiet at home when hubby is sleeping, and as long as I'm not using the heat gun or the old hammer & eyelet setter, I'm good!  When I'm at a crop or a stamping party I get more talking done than stamping, but I always have a great time."

Check out Kim's project to share this week:
