SMAK Saturday!!

Hello there Unity friends,
It's Karen, and today I'm sharing a 12x12 canvas that I made using quite a few Unity sets...
I drew my inspiration from a past Wildflowers & Wings SMAK kit!

I especially love to mix and match different Unity stamp set onto canvas projects!
Here you can see that I used the sweet little wildflowers, colorful leaves, distressed grid
on the top corner of my project.  Lots of mixed media products used like Pitt Pens, paint,
bubble wrap, Gelatos, Neocolor II Artist Crayons, distress inks & markers & stencils.

I also used some of the leaves from this month's KOTM, bitty backgrounds, and another butterfly!
More watercoloring and stamping with distress markers and inks...

Just another view of my girl colored in Neocolor II Crayons, and Faber Castell Gelatos!
I wanted to create a whimsical feel, so I surrounded her amongst
bubbles, wildflowers, leaves, and butterflies!

I even gave her some wings of her own, and added a little puffy heart.
Did you catch that I used the some more wildflowers from the SMAK kit to make a collar for her dress?
Then, I stamped the SheArt Print Texture stamp right on the dress...
afterall, SHE is all about positivity!

I hope this will inspire you to pull a few different Unity stamp sets
to see what beautiful creation you come up with...are you up for the challenge?

We are nearing the end of the month, but there's still time to grab this month's SMAK and LOL sets!!

Friday Reminders

This post includes a couple of gentle reminders.

There are only TWO days left to add this BEAUTIFULLY detailed Stamp of the Week to your crafty stash.

I have no doubt it will make YOU and others very happy.

Below is a picture of a card I put together using this awesome Stamp of the Week. Clean and simple cards have been all the rage the past few years and sending them to friends and loved ones can be much easier than the bulky dimensional cards. Right? Sometimes, though,  I’m inspired by a stamp to build a card from the stamp up and then out.  Do you know what I mean?

This week’s Stamp of the Week made me a card builder using layers, dimension, folds, pop dots, glossy accents, embossing folders, etc. I tried to stop after a couple of layers but I just kept building a card to showcase this fancy bird. It’s pretty fancy and deserves the attention I think. It’s fun to color.

wishing you happiness

I’ve included a very QUICK video for dimensional demonstration purposes only.  I just couldn’t capture the dimension of the above card with my camera. It’s quick, I promise, under 30 seconds.

Watch video to see the dimension and layers of the above card in all of its glory!

Here’s some inspiration for you all using this beautiful stamp from other members of our Design Team at Unity. They are all so beautiful and fancy, clean and simple, and some with layers and dimension.

For more information on becoming a Stamp of the Week member, please click here.

And another friendly reminder . . .

Today is the 29th of August.  That means you only have two more days to become a Kit of the Month member, so that you are GUARANTEED the August 2014 kit, “Summer Collapsed into Fall”.

Click on the graphic below to take you to the Kit of the Month page at Unity.

Here’s a simple, little card I made using this month’s kit.

thank you teacher

Since you're all signing up for the Kit of the Month and Stamp of the Month, don't forget to shop Unity this weekend. As always, there are wonderful new releases and a sale calling your name.

PLUS Unity has things to wear, so you can craft happy and in style. I’ve got MY hoodie. Do you have yours?

I’m getting one of those t-shirts, too.

Have an awesome weekend!

Inspiration Wednesday + Storage Video

Welcome back to another inspiration Wednesday! Rachel here, and I've got a little something extra special to share today, but that'll come at the end of this post ;)

First, I think the 'ice cream cone' trend needs to be addressed. Ice cream and frozen pops are everywhere from clothes, decor, paper, and stamps. I threw together this 'sweet' photo collage as inspiration for my card...

As usual, Unity Stamps has been ahead of the trend. I pulled out my "More Than Ice Cream" itty bitty and jumped on the band wagon.

I colored the ice cream truck with Copic markers and bordered it in front of these summery papers by Bo Bunny. Even though school has started, we still have another month of summer left! So go enjoy those ice cream cones!

Now for something special! I know there is a constant discussion on the Unity {Show and Tell} Facebook page about how people store their Unity stamps. My biggest struggle was how to store my KOTM and SMAK stamps. Then a light bulb went off and I came up with this little inexpensive system... Watch the 4 minute video and enjoy!

Thank you so much!

Growing in Unity Wednesday

This week Kristy is up as our GIU gal and she will be sharing Unity projects all week!

Meet Kristy:

Here is a little something about Kristy:

"Hi! I am very excited to be the Growing in Unity girl this week. I love that Unity Stamp Company has so much variety to choose from – from chic to humorous. I’ve had fun creating all my projects for my Growing in Unity and using a little bit of each.

Stamping has always held a special place in my heart…which has blossomed into card making, scrapping and general memory keeping. Today, I find my crafting time to be my sanity. I am very lucky to have a wonderfully supportive husband. Without him, I wouldn’t be able to sneak a few hours here and there to craft. I am a stay at home mom to 2 bundles of joy (…and energy). Both my son and daughter like to get into my scrap room and play with my stamps, papers and buttons – especially the buttons! I love that I can make a record of memories – and not just holidays and special occasions, but everyday moments too! I will continue to create, mostly just for this Mama’s Sanity.

I hope you have enjoyed my projects this week. You can see all my projects on"

Now check out this great project she made:

Be sure to swing on by Kristy's Blog each day this week for loads of inspiration and your chance to win 2 itty bitty's!
